Unity Surfboards is the creation of shaper Jarred Hanton who started shaping surfboards in 2005 after being fortunate enough to learn the craft under the guidance of Peter Walsh of Ocean Eyre Surfboards. Jarred was able to further these skills by gaining valuable insight from Rick Ford of Genesis Surfboards in South Australia. In 2009, Jarred opened his factory at Aldinga Beach to initially provide locally made boards to locally based surfers but has now progressed and provides shapes to customers nationwide.
Jarred, a local from the southern suburbs of South Australia, has grown up riding waves around Adelaide, Victor Harbor, the Yorke Peninsula and the West Coast and has also travelled and surfed extensively interstate and overseas. As a result of these experiences, Jarred has gained knowledge which allows him to design and shape boards for local surfers and those wanting a specific shape or for traveling.
Jarred believes in innovation and progression in surfboard design and understands the importance of a close working relationship with his customers to ensure each surfer is shaped a board which provides them with the optimal surfing experience.
Unity Surfboards are 100% hand made, using all quality Australian made materials. Unity Surfboards maintain customer involvement during the shaping process, providing regular emails with photos and up to date information of the evolving board from blank to finished shape.
Unity Surfboards pride themselves on combining quality and performance and aim to provide the best possible product. We are driven by feedback from our team riders and gain great satisfaction in the knowledge that our boards enable surfers to experience the unity of being at one with the wave and the freedom and enjoyment this creates.
